Elizabeth (Vail) Capps

    Beth Capps age 46 of Macomb, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. She was born January 24, 1976, at Macomb, Illinois, to Steven and Dale Konkler Vail.  She was united in marriage, July 4, 2020 in Macomb to Mike Capps.

    Surviving to mourn her passing are her husband Mike Capps, Macomb, 5 sons: Andrew (Mallory) Vail, Macomb, Michael (Faith Switzer) Peterson, Colchester, Adam Vail, Macomb, Cody Capps, Macomb, Zavyn Capps, Chicago,2 daughters: Samantha (Ryne) Nelson, Colchester, Aurora Capps, Chicago, 2 grandchildren: Aidan Vail, Alan Nelson, 1 sister: Kelli Vail, Macomb, grandfather: Donald Konkler, Colchester, 3 aunts: Kathie (Steve) Nunberg, Universal City, Texas, Pat (Bill) Kitch, Canton, Suzie McCombs, Industry, along with many cousins.

    Beth was preceded in death by her parents: Steven and Dale Vail, grandmother: Wanda Konkler, grand parents: Lyle and Jean Ruthe Vail, step grandmother: Helen Vail, 1 aunt; Debbie Konkler

    Beth enjoyed, photography, writing, cooking, baking, reading listing to music, anything to do with the outdoors, including mushroom hunting, fishing, camping, riding her bike, swimming, frisbee golf, storm watching and chasing and searching out old cemeteries in the area.  She was avid in reading and learning about the history of this area, which led to her being the administrator of Colchester Memories on Facebook.  The moments that she spent with her family brought her the greatest joy in her life, whether it was going back roading at night, to watching movies on the tv, to having her family over to spend the day or evening, and she was always ready to feed everyone that came.  She had a very soft spot for both of her grandchildren.  Beth loved her family more than words can say.

    Celebration of life will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February, 5, 2022, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, with Rev. Jim Clayton.  Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 4th at the funeral home.  Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. Friday, February 4th.  Private family burial will take place at Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial is to the family.  Online condolences and memories may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com.
