Edna Lotz Obituary

Edna L. Lotz age 82 of Colchester, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at Bettendorf, Iowa. She was born February 17, 1935, in Mooresville, Indiana, to Vern and Eva Gibson Robinson. Edna was united in marriage in Macomb, Illinois in 1955, to Perry L. Lotz. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and 1 Sister: Margie Robinson.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 3 Sons: Thomas L. (Sandra) Lotz, Lynchberg, Virginia, Dean J. (Erin) Lotz, Pearl City, Illinois, Scott H. Lotz, Davenport, Iowa, 1 Daughter: Lucinda (Bill) Lenger, Coal Valley, Illinois, 8 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild.
Edna was a graduate of Western High School in 1953. She went on to be ahead of her time, being the only girl in the Biology class at Western Illinois University, graduating with a Masters in Biology along with Physics, and Chemistry. She taught school at Bardolph, Cornell, Aledo, Beardstown and Industry. She was able to teach many students male and female that they could dream big in the sciences. She was a past member of the Aledo United Methodist Church. Member of the McDonough County Retired Teachers Association of which she served as the treasure for many years. In her spare time, Edna enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, and, puzzles. Of all the accomplishments in her life, greatest joy to her was knowing the kids that she had taught and most of all, her family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester with Rev. Mike Hrabal. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home 1:00 P.M. Saturday. Memorials are to McDonough County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship Fund or Western Illinois University Biology Department.
