Eddie H. Burton

    Eddie H. Burton age 75 of Tennessee, Illinois, passed away, Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Promedica Care in Galesburg.  He was born January 15, 1947 in Macomb, to Dale and Sarah Stoneking Burton.  On November 1, 1970, in Colchester, Eddie was united in marriage to Patricia Teel.

    Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 51 years, Patricia Burton, Tennessee, 2 daughters: Sheri Burton, Tennessee, Julie Burton O’Quinn, Honaker, Virginia, 2 granddaughters: Brandi O’Quinn, Abingdon, Virginia, Jessie O’Quinn, Maryland, and 1 brother: Ronald Burton, Galesburg. 

    Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister: Donna Carpinella.

    Eddie served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam war.  He had worked at Haeger Pottery and retired after 20 years from Yetter Manufacturing in Colchester.  Eddie was very active in the Colchester Summer Ball program for many years, umpiring, to coaching girls softball.  He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening, watching birds, and anything that involved being outdoors.  He was a very avid Chicago Cub and Bear fan, trying to watch as many games as he could.  Eddie loved his family and would do anything he could for them.

    Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb, with Rev. Jim Clayton.  Military rites will be held at the grave by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion.  Visitation with the family will be from 5;00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 30, 2022, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester.  Friends may view and sign the book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. Monday.  Memorial is to the Colchester Summer Ball Program.
