Donald P. Brown Sr.

    Donald P. Brown Sr. age 72 of Colchester, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at his home in Colchester.  He was born April 4, 1950, in Peoria, Illinois to Eldon and Dorothy Einsporn Brown.  Donald was united in marriage to Kathy Scales in Peoria, on July 27, 1973.  She survives of Colchester.

    Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 49 years, Kathy Brown, Colchester, 2 sons: Donald (Lisa) Brown Sr., Chicago, Robert L. Brown, Colchester, 1 granddaughter: Mariah Brown, 1 brother: Pete (Mary) Brown, Savanna, Illinois, 1 sister: Vicki Bushman, Eureka, Illinois.

    Donald was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Richard Brown, and Thomas Brown.

    Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 23 years, finishing his career as a Yeoman. After retiring from the navy he then continued serving the Navy for 15 years as a security officer.  He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, member of the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion.  Donald enjoyed fishing, bowling and darts.

    Cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of life will be held at the Macomb V.F.W. at a later date.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorial is to the Macomb V.F.W.
