Darrell J. Hocker

Darrell J. Hocker, age 51 of Macomb, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at McDonough District Hospital.  He was born October 26, 1972, in Macomb to Roger and Janet Cramer Hocker.

Surviving to mourn his passing are his parents: Roger and Janet Hocker, Macomb, his daughter: Hannah (Rob) Mellentine, Granville, Illinois, granddaughter: McKenzie Mellentine, Granville, Illinois, 2 brothers: Todd (Debra) Hocker, Macomb, Michael (Michale) Hocker, O’Fallon, Missouri, 2 sisters: Cathy (Terry) Slater, Defiance, Missouri, Michele (Dan)  Fitzgerald, Defiance, Missouri, along with several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

Darrell was preceded in death by his grandparents, 1 aunt and 2 uncles.

Darrell attended Macomb schools and graduated from Macomb Senior High School in 1991.  He attended Illinois Community College in Peoria, Illinois, obtaining a degree in graphic design and printing.  He worked in that field for several years before returning to Macomb, where he resided and helped his father working on the farm.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester with Rev. Kelly Ingersoll.  Burial will follow the services at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.  Visitation with the family will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the funeral home.  Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home after 4:00 P.M. Sunday.  Memorials are to Shriners Crippled Children or St Judes Children’s Hospital.
