Dana Allen Nelson

Dana Allen Nelson age 59 of Colchester, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019, at his home. He was born May 31, 1960 in Macomb to Garry E. and Patsy M. McCord Nelson. Dana was united in marriage to Jodi Haddix March 20, 1983 in Colchester.

Surviving to mourn his passing are his wife of 36 years Jodi Nelson, Colchester, 2 Sons: Jesse (Emily) Nelson, Macomb, Ryne Nelson, Colchester, 1 Daughter: Danielle (Jake) Caho, Colchester, 4 Grandchildren: Gauge Caho, Kenda Nelson, Chase Caho, Josie Caho, 3 Brothers: Garry (Marlene) Nelson, Bushnell, Richie (Donna) Nelson, Colchester, Caleb Nelson, Davenport, Iowa, 3 Sisters: Teresa (Jim) Shaw, Wasilla, Alaska, Jeanne (Craig) Patterson, Colchester, Mary Marlene Dunkle, O’Fallon, Missouri, and many Nieces and Nephews.

Dana was preceded in death by his parents.

Dana was a farmer and carpenter. He loved to work with wood from cutting down the tree to running it through his own saw mill, then building the project that was at hand. His favorite type of wood to work with was Cedar. He enjoyed being outdoors in nature, spending time at his Koi pond to working with the Sheep. Dana also enjoyed passing on to his family the lessons he had learned from working with the Sheep to building a project for the house. Dana loved to visit with everyone and he was the best at telling a story, that would make everyone laugh. The time Dana spent with his family brought him the greatest joy. He loved his family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 10, 2019, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester. A private family graveside will be held at a later date. Friends may sign the registor book at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. Wednesday. Memorial is to the Education fund of his Grandchildren.
