Dana Lee Lance Morrell

Dana Lee Lance Morrell went to be with the lord on April 23, 2020. She was born on November 11, 1947 at Phelps hospital in Macomb Illinois to Anna Lance. Dana lived her entire life in the Macomb area. Over the course of her life she had many jobs including providing child care for over 20 children with her Aunt Judy Lance with whom she was raised as a sister. She retired after working for several years at Barry's Taxi. As a child Dana loved to dance.

Dana married Nolan DeWitt and they had 4 children. Dana later remarried and had another son. Dana had always loved animals, rescuing and caring for many. Family will tell you she never met a strange animal.

Left to mourn her passing include 1 Aunt, Judy Lance (Macomb) her Brother Dave Dorsett (Stacy) (Macomb)her children: Timothy Michael DeWitt (Teresa) (Colchester), James Lee DeWitt (Donalene)Mt Pulaski, Deedra Ann Barr (Michael) (Colchester), Kellee Renae Bobek (Iowa City IA) and Ad'm Lane Maloney (Macomb) Grandchildren, Michael DeWitt (Emerald), Riley DeWitt, Brenna Baker, Cole Baker, Drew Barr, Garran Barr, Ryan Taylor, Anna Belles (Bryan) and great Granddaughter Nikkie.

Dana was preceded in death by her Mother Anna Lance Dorsett and her Stepfather Norlyn Dorsett, her Grandparents Fred and Ina Lance whom she lovingly called Mom and Dad, grandson Dustin Lee Baker and John Morrell who she referred to as "the light of her life".

Following Dana’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. No services are scheduled at this time. Jones Mortary in Colchester is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to Wishbone Canine Rescue, Bloomington IL and mailed to Jones Mortuary Box 352, Colchester, Illinois, 62326.
