Beverly Ann West Thompson, age 80, of Plymouth, Illinois passed away on May 30, 2023 in Macomb, Illinois.
She was born on April 30, 1943 at home in Clayton, Illinois, daughter of Bob and Esther West.
Beverly graduated from Central High School in 1961 and was employed by several businesses including Adams County Abstract Co, Gardner Denver,Tucker Law Firm, and Tri County Golf Course. She played bass in a band for many years, spent time painting, gambling, traveling, golfing, was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan, but mostly enjoyed her dogs, Holly and Tara, and cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events.
On March 24, 2013, she married Lowell “Tommy” Thompson. They were together for 35 years and in that time, Beverly learned to be a farm girl. She and Tommy had many adventures together.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Thompson of Plymouth, IL, sister Debra Lantz of Clayton, sister Sherry (Brent) Snelgrove of Georgia, her children Jason Kern (Tiffany) of Camp Point, Kim Dormire (Rick) of Clayton, John Kern of Jacksonville, FL, step sons Byron (Julie) Thompson of Augusta, Dale (Mary) Thompson of Macomb, step daughters Linda (Jay) Cremer of Macomb, and Michelle (Justin) Hinderliter of Lewiston along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Esther West, her sister Sandy Kindhart, and her brother-in-law David Lantz.
Cremation will be accorded and a private graveside services will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery. Jones Mortuary in Colchester is helping the family with arrangements. Friends may sign the register book and leave memorials from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Jones Mortuary in Colchester.
