Betty L. Shoopman

Betty L. Shoopman age 92 of Tennessee, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Elms Nursing Center in Macomb. She was born December 8, 1924, in Colchester, to John and Maude Tandy Coghill. Betty was united in marriage to Blondell Shoopman, in Kahoka, Missouri in 1941, he preceded her in death August 19, 2001, she was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 1 Son: Thomas Alan (Valerie) Shoopman, Florida, 1 Daughter: Janice (Chuck) Butterfield, Colchester, 3 Grandchildren: Paul (Lisa) Butterfield, Kelly Butterfield and Justin Lundgren, Scott (Andrea) Shoopman, 4 Great Grandchildren: Dalton, Madison, Jill (Dylan) Cook, and Courtney.
Betty had worked at Mcdonough Telephone, Colchester State Bank and helped her husband on the family farm.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester with Rev. Lee Unger. The family invites everyone that attends the service to share their memories of Betty during the service. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Visitation with the family will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 9:00 A.M. Friday.
