Betty Lou Logan

Betty Lou Logan (Mackey-Smith), 77, of Tennessee, IL passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday morning March 21, 2019 at Heartland Healthcare in Macomb, IL. She was born May 11, 1941, to Alice J. Mackey in Monmouth, IL. She married Donald (Don) Logan on February 1, 1958, at the Carthage Methodist Church in Carthage, IL officiated by Rev. Ralph C. Gloce.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, Don, and their four children, Dawn Anne Logan of LaHarpe, Julie Logan Doscher of Blandinsville, Teresa Woolam (Hank Chapman) of Dumas, Mississippi, and Deron (Amanda) Logan of Tennessee. She was the proud grandmother of Brittany Doscher (Preston Rodgers), Cody Logan (Samantha Maltby), Amber Woolam, Dustin Logan, and Cooper Logan; and great-grandmother of Isabella and Ty.

She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Alice, Debbie, and Joyce; brothers, David, Wayne, and “Butch,” and their families, including a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved each and every one of them dearly.

Betty was a loving mother and grandmother, first and foremost, loving her family unconditionally. She worked in food services, was a home health caregiver, and served as an election clerk for many years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, and gardening.

Cremation rights have been accorded. Memorial services to be announced at a later date but will be held at Jones Mortuary in Colchester, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to Hutchinson Cemetery in care of Jones Mortuary. Condolences may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com
