Albert Sam Mason

Albert Sam Mason age 79, of Macomb, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at St. Johns Hospital, in Springfield, Illinois.  He was born October 31, 1946, in Macomb, to James and Irma Jean Chockley Mason.  Albert was united in marriage in Macomb in 1968, to Barbara McDaniel, they later divorced.  He later married Peggy L. Inman in Hannibal, Missouri in 1996, She preceded him in death on July 21, 2023.

Surviving to mourn his passing is his first wife: Barbara Mason, Macomb, 2 sons: Tracy (Cassidy) Mason, Keokuk, Iowa, Dalton Mason, Keokuk, Iowa, 2 grandchildren: Madilyn Mason and Myatt Mason.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents: James and Irma Jean Mason, and his wife Peggy Mason.

Sam had worked at Porcelain in Macomb, Western Illinois University, and he was a Paramedic for many area ambulance services.  Sam served his country in the United States Army.  He loved to visit, and he never forgot a face or the name that went with it.  Sam could strike up a conversation with anyone.  He loved to travel.  He enjoyed taking Dalton to Disney World and to Handicap Rodeos.  He would follow Tracy to every sporting event he could. Most of all Albert loved his family.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Private burial will be held at Hutchinson Cemetery, rural Tennessee.  A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorial is to the Donors Choice.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
