Aaron Sutton Obituary

Aaron R. Sutton age 78 of Colchester, went home to be with the Lord, June 11, 2023, at 3:20 A.M.  He was born May 5, 1945, at the Phelps Hospital in Macomb, to Joe and Ruby Sutton.  He married Mary L. Ruble, May 8, 1966, at Franklin, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Sutton, two daughters: Tonya M. Sutton, Hampstead, North Carolina, Michele L. (David) McAdams, Asheville, North Carolina, two brothers: Ronnie L. Sutton, LaHarpe, Illinois, Lonnie W. Sutton, Antioch, Illinois, and two grandchildren.

Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Carol Causey and Kay Sutton missing since the 60’s.

Aaron joined the Navy SeaBee’s in 1966 as a heavy equipment operator.  He did two tours in Vietnam.  Was stationed at Navy Civil Engineering Laboratory at Port Hueneme, California.  He completed his diving career as an original plank owner in Underwater Construction Team One at Little Creek, Norfolk, Virginia.  He retired from the Navy in 1986.

After retirement he worked at Wayland Ready Mix in Macomb, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and helping other.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  The family will host one last picnic in the pines on August 12, 2023, as a Celebration of Aaron’s Life.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorial is to The Elms Nursing Home.
